Fascism~ A single-party dictatorship made by terrorism and police surveillance. It mainly looks at one race being better than all the others. Someone that takes away someone else’s freedom would be considered fascist. Back then, the race above all was the German race or blonde hair, blue eyes.

Nazism~ A form of socialism but with racism, expansionism, and obedience to one strong leader. In WWII this powerful leader was Adolf Hitler.

Hitler Youth~ It was the youth that was part of  the Nazi party in Germany. It was founded in 1922. There were two branches, one of boys from the ages 10 to 14 and the other ages 14 to 18. Feelings of nationalism and pride we instilled into the boys, along with obedience. This convinced them that they must do anything that would help Germany the nation as a whole. They would provide these boys with free military training because they later became Hitler’s police, the SS or members of the German military.

How did the Treaty of Versailles cause problems for Germany?~ The Treaty of Versailles was an agreement to try to stop fighting between Germany and all other countries. It was originally made to stop World War 1. The Treaty of Versailles caused problems for Germany because it pretty much blamed all of World War 1 on them. Since it was all blamed on them, they were forced to pay for all costs during World War 1. They were only allowed to have a small army with no tanks or submarines. Also, land would be taken from Germany by other countries. Germany didn't think this was fair but they were forced to sign it anyways.  Germany went into a depression because of all of the debts the treaty made them have. After all, the treaty did rob them of their land, the economic production, and the available jobs.

The Nazi party and Hitler taking control ~ The Nazi party first started when they began to make gangs of unemployed soldiers, they began the legal government of Germany. They were all put into prison with high treason. Hitler got out in one year though he was sentenced to five. After prison, Hitler began to get everyone from the Nazi party back together again. While he was in Prison he wrote a volume of Mein Kampf which ended up getting published then became the base for the Nazi party’s beliefs and acts. These beliefs and acts were racist beliefs and murderous acts. Paul von Hindenburg was elected president in 1925 and stabilized Germany. The Nazi party to begin to grow, there was about 27,000 people in it in 1925. During the Great Depression the Nazi party won a vote making them the second biggest party in the Reichstag. A lot of the Nazi party was in the politics so it made it easier for them to take control of Germany. Once the Nazi party was extremely powerful they began to go to different countries and take the Jews or “non pure people” (pure people having blonde hair, blue eyes) and put them into camps.
